Yes folks, the big N finally drop the bomb on wii (couldn help that, lol).
It will be on shelves officially 2 days after the PS3 launch.

Just to clarify a little. Nintendo PLANS to announce details about the Wii today. As of now, they have not announced anything officially. There have been interviews with Reggie and others but today is to be the actual announcement. The Gamespot article references this article from the NY Times which clearly states that Nintendo plans to announce it today. I just don't want people to put the cart before the horse.

Some hightlights:

Pack-in game for the first time since SNES. That is huge, IMHO. Perfect choice for pack-in too with Wii Sports.

The only thing missing is a second control but that is small ting.

The remote is a big pricey at $40 but for all the tech it is worth it. Nunchuk is $20 additional.

Talk about a launch: 30 plus launch games. That is unheard of. Which console ever launched with 30 titles? Here are some of them:

Zelda: Twilight Princess, Excitetruck, Call of Duty 3, Tony Hawk, Trauma Center, Madden NFL 07, Need For Speed: Carbon, Elebits, Metal Slug Anthology, Barnyard, Cards, Avatar, Blazing Angels, Far Cry: Vengeance, Red Steel and Ray Man.

Virtual console: $5 for NES, $8 for SNES, $10 for N64. 30 titles this year with 10 a month afterwards. Let that sink in for a while.

The biggest statement in my mind:

They did say that their info was reliable eh, and the press conference confirmed it.

the wii just seems to be getting better and better for me, and especially after hearing Hideo Kojima (Creator of MGS) is very interested in creating games for the WII. i think i may buy this console first then the ps3. i mean it is rediculously cheap compared to the others.

better had! That title MADE the (original) ds - It's what I play most! usually when I see a ds, it's red - the color of the console that came packed with mariokart.
