Confirmation Email Problems

A friend of mine for the past few weeks has been waiting on his confirmation email after signing up for the forum, after a long wait i told him to remake it, but apparently he cannot as the email has already been registered - thus ruling out a faulty email input

his email is, noerhtims@yahoo.com, can an admin please address this situation.
