my attention span is too short to play chess.... unless of course i am high on caffeienee.

we are not "supposed" to be anything... if we play any game more than 5 hours a week.. we are considered gamers.. years ago big business decided to exploit our hobby in order to make money.. thus the console war was born... and games for the PC began to be standerdised...

there are gamer clothes, gamer drinks, gamer shoes, gaming machines, gaming cards, gaming upgrades, gaming clubs, gaming memberships etc....

but all you need to be a gamer is a love of games... and some access to them.

there are WAAAAY too many chess championships in the schools already... what i want is a GATT school GAMING CHAMPIONSHIP! it would pwn! just think, missing classes.. in order to play GAMES! muhuhuhuwhagha

Men gettin lock happy over WHAT? Nothing negative towards anything was said. You just can't wait to use your super duper mod powers can't you?

Anyway, I can play chess. It's one of my passions from long ago but I had given it up for CXC and by the time I knew what was goin on, video games took over.

I'm rusty as of right now but I think I'd be able to give you a challenge though. I'm on GATT chat a little more often these days so if you see me in there I'm available.

I agree with the K dude on this one.
Don't forget, we are the GAMERS Association of Trinidad and Tobago. I'm almost CERTAIN that it's not limited to just video games. And it isn't, either, since GATT has adopted card gaming such as Yu-Gi-Oh! and MTG as Gatter activities.

So, who's to say that chess and checkers, the games among those that started the concept of gaming, isn't eligible?
Like Imperial, I too, am rusty in this game.
I used to play all the time when I was small.

I was in the Chess Club in school, but that was 15 years ago. I don't know how much competition I will give you, but I can try.

En passant is the only element I didn't really understand in chess. The rules behind it and what not. I made some killer openings and strategies based off of Ruy Lopez's style of play.

Anyway, I should be online tommorow (Monday) hopefully, so we could play then perhaps.

I used to be a boss in Chess.

That is turn based starcraft without the SCIFI theme. lol

Always on the quest for badder chess games like BattleChess (anyone remember that???!)

Was a boss chess game where the pieces will actually fight when they clashed on the board. Very cool.

Got a new 3D one recently but it sucked.

Like computerman, I used to be in a chess club but now am rusty as hell.

Neon does still do a thing, challenges iymc.
