Yeah i think it is a prequel to 'pitch black' because in that movie he was in captivity.

I totally enjoyed Pitch Black and Im pretty sure im gonna like this one. However critics are gonna have a field day with this one, especially in the US. Hype is always a good thing. The movie will make more than Pitch Black did for sure (38-42 million). Hype alone will make it cross that mark.
